Time Comes Time Goes...Don't You Know!

The start of a new school year ultimately means that as parents we can expect family time to be monopolized by the "Must Do's" of homework, time management and commitment to the educational cause. Obviously, I can't speak for everyone but I am certain where my thoughts land when it comes to having enough time to complete all the tasks that I deem important. I could state it in a nutshell and probably would find that many people share my sentiment when I say... "Where has time gone and why does it feel as if life is moving so fast"?

As I mature in my walk with God I have gained a greater sense of how precise a gift time truly is. Who can measure it when we don't even know how much of it we have? Not being able to control the flow of time leaves most of us wondering should we slow down, speed up or just maintain a steady course?

In our continual pursuit to obtain all things worldly...prestigious job titles, cars, houses, vacations to exotic destinations we have forgotten to value the here and now, when really the here and now is all that we know for sure that we have. So when a friend crosses your mind - reach out to them. Use whatever form of communique that works for your fast paced life whether it be land-line, email, text, or a direct message on Twitter or Facebook. That's the moment you should be like Nike and "Just do it".

It happens to all of us. We sense that we should stop and do something and yet so often we don't. And because we didn't value that moment in time we miss doors of opportunity for heart-felt conversations, such as thoughs with our children as they struggle with life issues. Or maybe its a friend whose walking through a valley of darkness and so desperately has been asking God to send a friend to walk through the valley with them.

Live each moment in time to the fullest. Stop to listen to your heart strings when they pull. Laugh with a friend. Take a walk with your spouse or child. Smile at a stranger as you hold the door open for them and then thank God that He gave you one more day and one more moment in time to leave a footprint of love in this world!
