Gearing Up to Face the Madness

Deadlines, invites and a thousand gifts to buy is a good way to categorize the holiday season and the pressure it brings. As a society we have resolved ourselves to accept it all while secretly wanting to just make it through - almost being more thankful when it's all done then enjoying the true meaning of the season.

But is that what God intended us to do? Passing by one of the most holiest of holidays in total overload instead of being renewed by the gift He offered when He inacted a plan through the birth of His son. A gift so precious that it removes the sin gap that once seperated us from God.

We each have to make the determination regarding what we are willing to allow the season to become to us. For me the choice is simple...this isn't the Holiday Season - it's Christmas. I'm not interested in the material gifts you have to offer - I'm interested in the heart felt love your willing to share when you spend time with me and share your views about how important our relationship is to your life.

Thanksgiving hasn't fallen through the cracks because we somehow experienced a quantum leap from Halloween to the Winter Holiday Season. On the fourth week of November our family will stop and give thanks to God Almighty - the Creator of heaven and earth for the many blessings He has bestowed upon us and the time He has taken to build an intimate relationship with each member of our family.

Thanksgiving - Christmas - You and Yours. What will you decide when it comes to celebrating the season and the meaning it brings to your life?

Whereever you end up I pray that it brings you joy, laughter and peace that continues throughout the new year.
